Rest in Play, Bigfoot. He was my first dog and right now it feels like he'll be my last dog.

The circumstances around his departure are similar to many other dogs taken too soon. When I realized something was wrong, I put him in the car and began rushing to the nearest open vet (weekend) over an hours drive away. He was obviously in bad shape and I told him " I love you, you're a very good boy and I love you, son. If you have to go, go. Go play and we'll find each other later." He was with me in the car in the passenger seat and not alone on the roadside which im grateful for because I would have handled finding him much worse. I have to find and try to grieve all the ways I can because I don't want my sadness holding him back. I had begun to prepare myself for "one day" it will be him and I will have to handle it but I wasn't ready for him to be here one morning and gone by the afternoon. He was more than a good boy, he was my best friend and I'm going to miss him for the rest of my life.
