| | Our home is located in a very rural area. We have an insane amount of Tussock Moth caterpillars on our property. I heard her snarling - she is a very quiet dog and we haven't heard her make a single noise of upset yet - and it scared the heck out of me. We are still getting used to each other. I was scared she was about to attack something. And she was! There was a very large bright yellow Tussock Moth caterpillar crawling right to my freshly turned three year old. I have no idea how it got inside the house. She got so many treats and praises. My other two dogs were napping in the bedroom. My husband had one of these caterpillars on his back and he sat in the car. It released all the hairs on its body into his skin. He had blistered welts all along his back and was acting like he was on fire. He said the pain was absolutely excruciating. I even posted about it here on Reddit trying to figure out what had happened. Some people just have a bad reaction to it. Today, I didn't have to find out if my toddler did too. Thank you Whisp.
