| | My 3yr old 22 lb female dog Cairo, my merle frenchie x chiweenie min pin, my heart dog and my miracle baby. She’s survived the kind of things that should’ve taken her out, and yet somehow she’s still here. I actually delivered her myself 🥹she’s the daughter of my other dog Reece (chiweenie min pin) Dad’s the frenchie. I had cut the umbilical cords of the first few pups just fine, but when I cut Cairo’s, blood suddenly started spurting out. I panicked and pinched the cord as fast as I could. I was so scared I’d lost her before she even had a chance to live, but she pulled through. Then, at about a year n half old, even though she was vaccinated, she somehow caught parvovirus. It was one of the scariest 2 weeks of my life. She ended up in critical care, and I had to do home care through the nights. At one point she looked like she was fading on me, and I rushed her to emergency praying she would make it. She fought through and miraculously survived. And if that wasn’t enough! about six months later, she got through an open part of our fence and was hit by a car. I was hysterical and beyond devastated, I thought this was it. But by some miracle, she had no broken bones, just internal trauma that she managed to recover from after a few months. The vet said her strong, muscular frame was what probably saved her. I know everyone loves their dogs, and I love mine all deeply but have you ever had a dog who touches you in a way that no other animal has ever? Cairo is that for me. I wanted to share her story and ask does anyone else have a miracle dog? A dog that’s overcome insane odds? I’d love to hear about your survivors too. [link] [comments] |
