Triangular dog Karma

Triangular dog Karma

This is the story of my dog, Karma. When she was about 10 months old, she lived in the forest outside the city. She stayed near a bus stop, where elderly women would sometimes feed her. My husband and I had wanted to take her in for a long time, but we hesitated because we were renting an apartment outside the city.

One evening, I was coming home from work, walking through a private residential area, when a large Alabai guard dog, let out for a walk by the neighbors, attacked me. It nearly tore me apart, but I managed to get home in one piece, though covered in bruises. That same evening, my husband came home from work—with the dog we had wanted to take in for so long.

I was in shock and very upset because of the attack, but I calmed down when I had to feed her. While we were washing her, I jokingly said, “Maybe you’re my Karma.” She perked up at the name, responding to it, and that’s how she became Karma.

Now she’s 11 and a half years old, enjoying the best retirement a dog could have.
