| | She was old, more than 16 years. We had her for 13 something years. She had dementia, but the last week or so she did not have any clear moments anymore and was struggling to find her way. She had bad vision for about 6-8 years and became (totally) blind in the last few years. She was deaf. Me and my wife always agreed to not let her linger for too long. About 1,5 week ago she had an epeliptic attack in the night. She did not have one of those in a long time, but after this one it was like her mind was totally erased. She did not respond to smelling my hand for example, where before she would recognize it. She would struggle to find her way and be generally confused where she was and where to go. Numb into things and the last week days she couldn't hold her pee all the time. She was a really kind dog. Untill a few years ago (when her vision deteriorated too much) loved to play catch with a ball or pinecone. Obsessed with food and treats. We are glad she was with us, but sad she is not here anymore. Bye Luna. You'll be missed. [link] [comments] |
