Started my new year off without my puppy and now don’t know what to do with his ashes

I was thinking that I would scatter his ashes in the patch of garden that he liked to eat grass in but since I received them I’m not sure I can let go again. I have the little paw prints as a keepsake so I don’t need the ashes. Did you have a pet cremated before? What did you do with them?
