Farewell Diesel

Farewell Diesel

“Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.” This is extremely true with our beagle Diesel who we rescued. From the day we adopted him, he fit in with our family with ease. I’m really going to miss seeing him sitting in the front door of the house and wagging his tail as I walk up the road. Those head scratches when he tilted his head back and made that little groan as his tail wags while looking up at me. Seeing him shake his butt when I got home from work alleviated the stress of the work day. He loved going boating, relaxing up the camp in the mountains, long walks and going to the beach with us too. It truly sucks and was hard to watch seeing our boy being the picture of health and now seeing his health decline for the worse.

He started getting cancerous tumors in March of this year. We got the largest one removed shortly thereafter however, throughout June and July his condition got worse. It pains me to put our boy to sleep but, I along with my parents and siblings hate seeing him suffer. It pains me to see him unable to walk on his own and, having to carry him outside to try to go to the bathroom.

“Nobody can fully understand the meaning of love unless he’s owned a dog. A dog can show you more honest affection with a flick of his tail than a man can get through a lifetime of handshakes.”

Love your pets with all the love and affection you can give them.

We will remember that sparkle in your eyes, playful spirit, and most of all your unconditional love you showed us throughout the 14 years we had together.

We love you so much Diesel❤️ 03/23/10 - 08/02/24
