Just lost the most fatherly dog ever.

Just lost the most fatherly dog ever.

Today I had to put down the dog who raised me from the age of 5. He lived a whopping 14 years, and it wasn't easy for him. My dad was rough on him when he was young, and at old age he suffered from intense arthritis and going blind and deaf. He would stay up at night wandering the house whining because he was in too much pain to get comfortable enough to sleep. I know it was time, but it hurts so bad. I guess this is just a sympathy post because I feel like I'm nearing a state of psychosis over this loss. He only knew how to sit and shake, but boy did he ever. his paw was always up if you looked at him and needed a hand to hold. Boy loved hugs so much, as the sedation was setting in, he just buried his head into my chest and I lost all grip of my sanity in that moment. If only I could hug him one more time.

"To call him a dog hardly seems to do him justice, though in as much as he had four legs, a tail, and barked, I admit he was, to all outward appearances. But to those who knew him well, he was a perfect gentleman.” –Hermione Gingold To the best boy, I hope you're running painless and free up in doggy-heaven. You weren't here for our whole lives, but you sure made our lives whole ❤️
