mixed breed or aging weird?

wondering if anyone can help me out here. this is my golden, she’s 5 years old. in the last year or so she started getting super whiskery and white, and has grown the weirdest little beard. she never had one until then though. the last pic is what she looked like about a year and a half ago. i’m wondering if this is just something that came with age? i’ve just never heard of a dog growing a beard, only turning white. but i can’t tell if it’s because of that, or if she may be mixed with another breed. but i feel like that would’ve been something that had been apparent from the beginning.

TLDR my golden retriever looked like a retriever for the first 4 years of her life but now looks like some kind of terrier mix.
