So I've posted about this wonderful girl before, but thought I would add her story. A few weeks ago, while working for an elementary school, we saw two girls followed by a puppy. We took all three to the office so their parents could pick up the pup. Come to find out the parents didn't approve the pup due to their landlord and told us to call animal control instead. Guess who adopted so that the kids could still get pictures of their old puppy? She had worms, fleas, shorn whiskers, and enough dirt to cause a Mud pit in my shower, but she is loving her walks, warm house, good food, and chew toys now. To make it official we fostered first, after officially reporting her surrender to the overpopulated animal shelter, and adopted her through the shelter. She was only 8 weeks when the family got her, 10 when I picked her up, 12 when I am posting this. We picked her up just in time for the weather to turn freezing at night so she will have a warm first winter and can't wait to show her snow when it eventually snowstorms where I live. Big shout-out to my partner who agreed and has been helping me take care of her since my impulsive decision to adopt her that morning. She has two older sisters and an older brother, all feline with no idea what puppies do, but likes to play fetch down a long hallway with bro Squig. (Sparky the eldest female cat, is the one in the picture). [link] [comments] |
