Update from my last post in April
We ended up taking in this GSD mix back on the 1st of April and very quickly realized that he was malnourished and traumatized. He was found roaming the streets with no collar or chip. Across the seemingly endless vet visits, we have finally figured out all of his stomach and health issues, the main ones being worms and various other parasites, which caused numerous late nights and emergency veterinary visits. He is still mostly dog and human reactive, but we have slowly introduced him to more and more people and dogs, and he is finally starting to trust again
We’ve performed a DNA test to see where some of his temperaments and behaviors may be stemming from and found he is 56% GSD and 44% Doberman!
Through all of this, he has ended up becoming the best part of our little family, infesting our hearts with love, and taught us many valuable lessons. My parents have always rescued dogs, and I can see why. They come with the best quirks and personalities, and are endlessly grateful and loving.
