A few weeks ago, my dog died.
Her name is Kalessi, she was around 9-8 years old. I recently gor a new phone, and i wasn't able to keep most of the pictures of her. These are all i have, for now. Mostly, the pictures of her last days.
She was such a happy and playful dog. She loved being cuddled on the couch, and playing with my other dog. She loved sunbathing in the windows.
We had to put her down because, one day, her legs just shut down. For a few days, we manually carried her outside to help her go to the bathroom. She only sat in the one place, beside my bed. If we placed her anywhere else, she would use the last of her strength to crawl herself towards my room, until i helped her. She wouldn't eat or drink.
I couldn't watch her crawl everywhere anymore. I couldn't watch her be in pain any longer. I cried everytime she whimpered, and everytime she shifted her body, because i was reminded of her immobility.
I was with her, by her side, constantly. Crying everytime she refused her favorite treat she never refused before that.
I had my mom take her in, i couldn't.
My other dog, Bolt, has been sitting outside ever since. He sits on the porch looking out until i call him in. He's never done that before. Bolt is the last dog, white and curly. They've been together for a while, i joke that he is her husband. He is 11 years old, elderly, and developing cataracts, but still energetic, puppy-ish, and cuddly.
