We had to say goodbye to Herbie a week ago. The pain is alarming and deeply moored. He was my fiancée’s soul dog that he brought into our relationship 6 years ago when we met. Since then, Herbie has been a great comfort in times of immense pain and recovery, a comic relief when things got too tense, and a reminder of how important patience is anytime he’d act like a grade A asshole that couldn’t hear. To my dog that ACTUALLY cannot hear, he was great help for navigating the world as well as a very bonded big brother. His father and I are getting married in 2 weeks and we can’t believe we’re doing it without him. His outfit for walking down the aisle was picked out. This hit us suddenly and cruelty and I guess I’m just wondering how anyone else who’s been through this has gotten through it. Anyway, I hope these pictures capture a few special moments of his memory.
