Happy 10th Charlie! He Made it!

My sweet smart boy Charlie had his Real 10th Birthday party today! He had fake birthday parties before, bc he was on palliative care and going downhill.

Why you ask? Well, 1 1/2 year ago he was diagnosed with hemangioma sarcoma spleen That metastasized!

I went to 4 vets. I Tried. Finally accepted and he was living his best life, until he wasn't. But it was a year later. How did he survive a spleenic tumor That long? I asked many times.

It wasn't cancer. But it was now a 10 lb spleenic hematoma tumor. The others tumors? Just fat.

He was not going to last. So because of the timeline and my doubts We scheduled surgery without knowing cancer status. He came back with marks in back. "reaction to antibiotic" the vets filling in for surgeon said. I knew they were lying.

It was a burn. From being Electrocuted And Then burned from heating pads during spleenic removal! No telling how long the electric malfunction went on. I strongly suspect internal injuries to spine throat and side.

That office made things very stressful.

It's so bad, a far away photo got removed. Area 8x 22" with many charred areas and 1 through 4 thickness burns. Over 38% tba! He had very bad burn specific infections. Also got there a biopsy showed. Been on antifungals and antibiotics since seeing specialist.

Things have been crazy since. Its been just over 2 mos. Its really gross tbh. At least his nerves are gone. A blessing. Another blessing was that the bets office pmo. They were not qualified.

Gosh dern, he always has a great attitude. And lays still for doctoring and mini debrides. Im really glad he stuck around a while.

We have one more goal this year. Boating and swimming. He can't go now due to burns.

Anyway love him lots. I never imagined this spoiled boy was this tough.
