| Hi everyone, My boy turned 12 recently I adopted him when he was 1 or 2 - they didn't know. They just found him in a dumpster and on their way out of town picking up some other huskies. Anyways, the vet says he is in great health especially for his age and hasn't shown signs of arthritis or pain in his back legs yet. We actively walk 6-10 miles a day and he still acts like a pup most of the time. When people meet him they think he's 5. That being said, 12 is up there for a dog but I've heard from others a husky can go till 15. I've had this dude through so many crucial moments of my life. He's moved all over the place with me and has been so adaptable. When I had no one he was always there for me with a big smile and ready for a long hike. My question is how do you cope with aging? I spent so much time telling myself. I've got time. Just don't think about it but now just hearing 12 it really crept up on me. Enjoy some of my favorite photos of Shadow since we moved back to California from the Midwest The last one is with our newest foster Bear aka ( Beary White) 🤣 [link] [comments] |
