Rescue dog story

So, we rescued an 18 month old pointer who was living under a bridge with her 2 babies. They were able to find homes for the babies pretty quickly (they were old enough), but mom was more difficult because she had heartworms, so we adopted her. My god, have we been lucky! We named her Mimi because my son called me Mimi when he was a baby and Mimi was such a wonderful mom to her pups. Mimi is the most wonderful dog. After all she's been through, she still has the most joyful demeanor. She's so happy (in hindsight we thought we should have named her Happy), loving, and funny. And she's so very smart! She actually understands us. Our vet wants to kidnap her. 😉 Mimi has brought incredible joy into our lives. We're so very lucky.

UPDATE: I forgot to tell you that Mimi thinks she's a lap dog and loves tummy rubs.
