Someone reached out on my last post to tell me my dog is fat — are they right or is it just the winter floof?

First four pictures are in full winter glory, with no waist definition visible and a clearly rotund chest from the front. Two more pictures in transitional coat, then the two last ones of his skinny summer body.

Søren is a wolfdog (45% wolf with DNA test) and has a strong instinct to gain weight as soon as temperatures start to drop, but he only puts on 2 kg ; is that enough to tip into the overweight category? He loses the weight by summer as his testicles shrink and his coat starts feeling like an old broom.
