This is Whatamess. She was named this because of the state we found her in. She was skin and bone with little fur. She had no energy and constantly slept. The first two weeks, she got 5 meals a day of broth and many baths, at least every 2 days, along with every medication we could give her. Finally, the ticks, fleas, and mites were gone, and she'd been dewormed. She had an absess that we put her on antibiotics for that has only now fully healed. She was covered in sores, and her skin was raw, but now she's finally getting her fur back. She's become a lively member of the family playing with our other dogs and trying to play with the cats. She even gets along with the duck. She's on a normal breakfast and dinner feeding plan now and gets so excited when it's time for food. She does lots of spins and hops and is very vocal about her impatience. Her name was meant to be temporary, but it's stuck, even if she looks like a different dog now. We've taken in many strays in very bad condition before, but she was by far the worst. I'm so amazed with her transformation.
Her story before we found her is, unfortunately, a devastating one. She was loved and cared for, but her owner had to move away and couldn't take her with. She was left with a family member, but they didn't care for her at all. She was completely abandoned, and I can't imagine how. She's such a sweet soul and is such a blessing to experience. I'm so glad we're able to give her a home she can stay in the rest of her hopefully long life without worrying about us leaving her.
She's booked in with a vet to be spayed and for her vaccines next month. Unfortunately, we couldn't take her sooner as the nearest vet is hours away.

It's been a big adjustment as we now have 5 dogs, but I wouldn't change a single thing. We all love her so much and are so proud of her strength that I had to share.
