Just had to make the heartbreaking decision to put my old man down, I miss him.

Speedy's life started rough, he was found by the RSPCA, box on the side of the road. My grandma got him for us kids for Christmas 2010, best Christmas ever.

He stayed with us for 15 years, 4 houses, 3 towns, 2 other dogs we couldn't keep and 1 forever brother. He saw cousins grow and family's grow, he loved everyone, there wasn't a mean bone in his body.

Even as he passed he was happy to see the vet, happy for treats, he passed quickly.

In his last year he got an eye infection, glaucoma, little tumours popping up, his cognitive function decreased dramatically. He went from being a cure happy little dog to an old dog who would bump into everything and get lost.

I'm wondering if what I did was right, he was happy, he was eating, he always eats. But he wasn't living.

Huge shout out to the vets. They were amazing at making it all be nice. The vet who put him down was the one we saw throughout his treatments.

She was sad to see him go.

I'll always miss you speedy. I hope you find friends up there and I can see you again one day xx
