This is Violet, my ride or die for almost 16 years

I said goodbye to her March 26th 2020. I still miss her everyday. My first dog as an adult and the being that changed my life for the better. A friend I used to DJ with posted her on MySpace, saying that he was looking to rehome her (she was maybe 3 months old). I looked at her sweet face in the pic and messaged him immediately. The next day he went with me to make sure I adopted the right pup. I adopted her from a picture basically, a dog I never met. From the second I put on her little red collar and leash and walked her to my car I knew there was no doubt, she was my dog.

I have no kids, so to be honest, I have never loved another being on this planet like I love this girl right here. She moved with me 11 times, 3 different states, through one failed relationship and then a marriage. She went to work with me most days since she was about 6 months old, she went to the bar with me, she loved when my roomies and I had house parties, she loved going to outdoor concerts, hiking trails, beach walks, car shows…She loved doing everything I loved doing and just having her with me made me feel relaxed and comfortable. My friends (which were also her friends) reveled at her calm, constant nature and intelligent eyes.

I swear she read my mind and I could read hers.

She was my soul dog, no doubt..I have two wonderful pups now, that I love dearly, but this one, this dog, took a piece of me and I hope for nothing more than to meet up with her and go for long walks together in the afterlife, if there is one. Because of her, I hope there is.
