| | Sadly, we had to say goodbye to Jughead (aka Juggy). I've been fostering dogs for almost eight years now. He was one of a handful that was a foster fail. His last picture here was how he came to me. He was taken in by a rescue only to be dumped due to their dogs attacking this sweetheart. My rescue came in and took him. They gave me a call to temporarily help. They didn't send me pictures but just information. When he arrived, I couldn't dare let him go to anyone else. Immediately we formed this unbreakable bond. He was in rough shape, but I did my best to make him comfortable for whatever time I had with him. Five years of pure joy and happiness. He was an advocate for the breed, showed love to everyone, and most importantly, he showed me how to forgive—all the trauma he had been through, and he still never held grudges against anyone. RIP Juggy. I truly hope that I did right by you and gave you everything you could have ever asked for. So this is where we part, My Friend, and you'll run on, around the bend, gone from sight, but not from mind, new pleasures there you'll surely find. I will go on, I'll find the strength, life measures quality, not its length. One long embrace before you leave, share one last look, before I grieve. There are others, that much is true, but they be they, and they aren't you. And I, fair, impartial, or so I thought, will remember well all you've taught. Your place I'll hold, you will be missed, the fur I stroked, the nose I kissed. And as you journey to your final rest, take with you this... I loved you best. Jim Willis [link] [comments] |
