| This is Tanner. He was a month shy of 13, full of boundless love and light. ❤️ Up until his last few weeks, he had the personality and energy of a 3-4 year old. Congestive heart failure ultimately made living a struggle. He didn’t find the same joy in a lot of things he used to love, like kisses and bananas. And then after 40 hours of hospitalization, an oxygen cage, and intravenous lasix, he came back home for an evening only for his breathing to grow too fast and too heavy once again. Ultimately, we had to make the decision yesterday morning to send him on. He was surrounded by love, with my mom, my boyfriend, and I all present, and then the vet who really helped the process along smoothly. I’ll probably always be sad, and even if that sadness subsides with time, I know I’ll always love and miss him profoundly. ❤️🩹 I have quite a few videos of Tanner I captured over the years. This one I shared from a few months ago is one of my favorites. You can really see here the type of presence he was and his exuberant, loving spirit. 💙 [link] [comments] |
